As moving as this is (and it is!), I’m not surprised. I’ve had dogs all my 70+ years and everyone of them was as loyal, loving and irreplacable as these. God love them and our troops. We can never thank the troops enough for what they do.

Hey, Dog lover or not. How can we tune out the fact we have someone waiting for us. Someone who daily waits for us. Dog. Hey, come home to an empty place. You hear the key enter the lock. You hear the silence of the moment. WHO in their right mind wants to go thru that!! Who wants to fall flat on their face. A dog is the next best thing to a human but not all of us have a human. How wonderful a pet that loves us no matter what!! Duh, how many spouses love us as that. Duh, not too many but that is the difference between human and a loving pet. Pets deliver it all ……………. except …….. you know what but they are here to strictly LOVE us really dumb humans. As we age, we find out that peace is much more important then…….. welll you know. I know!!!

This video has very powerful meaning for me. My son was in Afghanistan for 8 months before, in his words, he “totally lost it”. I have been raising choc labs for all of his life, and while he was over there, I had a litter without his help. I assured him I would keep a pup for him. Now he is in care at Bethesda. When we talk, all he really wants to hear about is his pup.
As a former military dog handler during Vietnam, I can understand the joy a dog can bring to someone…this was special and a moment this person will never forget. Welcome Home and thanks for your service.

Who can say that dogs are “dumb” animals after seeing this. They have feelings, memory, emotions and heart. I am a 67 year old U.S. Marine combat veteran and have had dogs all my life. It did not take long watching this video to feel the sting of tears arising and the lummp in the throat building. After such an absence to see this reunion was indeed moving and reminded me of all those “furries” I have had over the years and how little they ask and how much they can give.

We provide service dogs for Veterans, children with autism, people with hearing loss, people with PTSD, ministry dogs, etc…..there is a connection between humans and animals that is deep and meaningful….help NEADS help others maintain a level of independence and mobility - it’s what we love to do! Thank you again for your service, our gratitude to you and your family.
My son is in the Army National Guard and he missed his dog Ace while he was at basic very much. Ace missed him too as he would lay on his bed waiting for him to come home. Neaedless to say they were both happy when he got home. Dogs are great companions. Bless all of you men and women in the service!
I kind of feel badly for the person holding the camera! The poor guy can’t even get to him or her for a hug. However, as a dog mommy for 5 pups, there’s nothing better than puppy kisses! Glad he’s back…hope the other soldiers aren’t far behind.
I loved it, we had Aussies until we had to put him down, but he could
tell when my husband was in the state from a trip gone. He would start to whine and walk back and forth until he walked in the door.
Now we have two Schnauzers and they just hear the garage door going
up and they are barking up a storm.

This is something that I wish for every military person. To COME HOME alive and greeted with open arms and kisses, no matter if it is human or animal. Dogs never forget. They know who love them and they return that love unconditionally which we all should do. GOD BLESS out Animals and Thank You God for Creating them. Thanks!

This video reminded me of our Cocker, Maggie, when her beloved eldest child (my eldest daughter) would come home for a visit after being gone a year. She just wouldn’t let up just like those two and yes she would “scold” her, too. They truly do love unconditionally. Thank you so much for sharing this video and bringing back memories and tears of joy.

Dogs remember, they know when their “person” isn’t there, and they miss them. When we lost my grandfather 5 years ago, their dog knew he wasn’t coming home and sat at the end of the driveway and howled for hours. Dogs are part of our families.

I have such a lump in my throat the entire time. This was so sweet, the dogs just couldn’t get enough of him.
This is the same reaction I received from my well-loved Black Lab, Tip, when I returned home from a deployment of 6 months in the Med, with the Fleet Amphibious forces. He was a devoted friend and is now gone 25 years. Heck, my tuxedo cat, Holly, does similar things to me, when I come home from work. Anyone who would ever hurt or abuse an animal is slime, in my eyes. for critters with such short life spans, they can sure pack a lot of love in their own way.
I’m so glad to see something that promotes the relationship of people and their animals, not just soldiers but anyone who develops such a relationship is to be commended. I’m reminded of a video similar to this about an injured eagle that had a broken wing but was loved back to a somewhat normal existence by a man who appreciated what the bird was faced with.
Now would someone please get the judge in the Michael Vick case to have both Mike and his co-abusers watch this over and over in hopes that they can be reminded that dogs weren’t meant to fight each other?

This brought me to tears pets are so dear to us and they have a great love & devotion and loyalty to their humans. Let us not forget what the so called animal right group PETA is trying to take that away from us because their ultimate goal is to have a world free of animals owned by humans from farm animals to a single gold fish and to have everyone be a vegan.
